Sir Jonathan Mills
Prominent composer and renowned festival director, Sir Jonathan Mills will share with us his thoughts on the classical music industry and inspire you with his vision of the future.
Currently living the UK, the Australia-born Mills has been at the head of several festivals in Australia and the UK, including the Edinburgh International Festival in both 2007 and 2014. He has received many international awards for his work as a composer such as, the Genesis Foundation Award in 2003 for his opera Eternity Man and the Prix Italia 2055 for his oratorio Sandakan Threnody.
Sir Jonathan Mills is the director of the Edinburgh International Culture Summit, a UNESCO-recognised conference that is part of Edinburgh's summer festivals and held every two years. In addition, he is Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh and Vice-Chancellor's (Professorial) Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
